Born in Moscow.
From 1981 to 1988 studied at EDAS, Experimental Children's Architectural Studio, led by Vladislav Kirpichev. Maxim's works from EDAS school were exhibited at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt, as part of the "Paper Architecture" exhibition in 1988 and at the Documenta Archiv in Kassel in 1989.
Maxim graduated from Moscow Architectural Institute (MArchI) in 1998. While studying architecture he pursued his interest in photography by photographing Constructivist architecture. After graduation Maxim worked as an art-director at advertising agencies BBDO, Saatchi&Saatchi, and as the creative director at TBWA.
In 2006 he graduated from the Academy of Photography in Moscow and has been working as a professional photographer since then, collaborating with such publications as “Seasons” magazine on a regular basis.
Since 2010 Maxim has been teaching experimental photography in Photoplay school in Moscow. He has lectured on creative photography and lomography in Moscow, Sankt-Petersburg and Kiev. He participated in numerous exhibitions since 2010, including Etazhi Art Center in Sankt-Petersburg, Solyanka Gallery in Moscow, the international festival of lomograhy “LOMOFEST” at “Lavra” gallery in Kiev.
